Soulful Songs: Weekend Thoughts

तुम्हारा इंतज़ार है,

ख़्वाब चुन रही है,

हमने देखी है इन आँखों की महकती ख़ुशबू,

हाथ से छूके इसे रिश्तों का इलज़ाम न दो,

सिर्फ़ एहसास है ये, रूह से महसूस करो,

प्यार को प्यार ही रहने दो, कोई नाम न दो।”

ख़ामोशी फ़िल्म के ये गीत, शायद 1969 के हैं। आज TV पर ये फ़िल्म फिर से देखी—

पहले भी कई बार देख चुकी हूँ

कितना बेहतरीन अभिनय किया है, वहीदा रहमान ने— दर्शक उनके दर्द को महसूस कर सकते हैं,

जैसे कि कोई अपना हो—

कोई चीखना-चिल्लाना नहीं, रोना नहीं, ना ही ज़ोर-ज़ोर से डायलॉग बोलना,

सारा अभिनय सिर्फ़ आँखों से,

और फ़िल्म ख़त्म होने के बाद भी, आप के दिलोदिमाग़ में वही सब घुमता रहता है।

राजेश खन्ना ने भी अपने अभिनय की अमिट छाप छोड़ी है, ख़ासकर उस गाने में—-

वो शाम कुछ अजीब थी, ये शाम भी अजीब है,

वो कल भी पास-पास थी, वो आज भी क़रीब है—-“

इस तरह की दिल को छूने वाली फ़िल्में अब कहाँ बनतीं हैं ।

The Spirit of Christmas


It’s Christmas time and it’s wonderful to see happy faces all around, in the markets, shopping malls, and elsewhere. Like others, I love to see the decorations of Christmas.

This also reminds me of my childhood and the sweet memories of my children’ s growing up days. They loved to dress up, and go to the Christmas parties organised in their schools, and our residential colony clubs.

The teachers used to dress up as Santa Claus, with big bags of yummy chocolates, cookies etc. My children enjoyed every bit of the celebrations and we parents also had fun along with them.

Happy and proud to be an Indian, where every religious festival is celebrated with full enthusiasm and excitement.

These pictures are from The Mall of India, Noida, India, and the cake is homemade by my daughter.

You will never speak to anyone, as much as, you speak to yourself, in your head.

So, please be kind to yourself, and spend sometime amidst ‘Nature.’

Nature is the ultimate healer, the real place to de-stress, to rejuvenate, to recharge, with positive vibes.

It’s indeed the best place to be for physical and psychological well being.

Having some ‘Me’ time is essential, and what better place to be, than ‘Mother Nature!’

Weekend Thoughts: Patience and Perseverance

Life is a journey with many ups and downs, pleasure and pain, some successes and many failures.

Sometimes, we get stuck up in life. Nothing seems to work, even though we put our sincere and best efforts, and we are on the verge of giving up.

Then, somehow we gather the broken pieces together— start again, fail again, then start again— and the process goes on and on.

But, it’s an established fact that, those who don’t give up, do succeed, at some point of time.

I am sure, people have such stories to share with others.

Sharing those stories, might give others hope, and confidence, and we should often do that.

Try to be someone’s motivation, in their trying times. It is a satisfying experience.
